With warmer weather on the horizon in Pennsylvania, there’s one thing we know: beer festival season is upon us. There are many festivals that showcase our state’s bountiful selection of beer, food and much more. Now in its eighth year, PA Flavor is one of the most respected samplings in Pennsylvania.
PA Flavor is hosted at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg, a venue boasting more than 45,000 square feet of space for vendors offering beer and food, as well as exhibiting industry-related products. PA Flavor 2018 will take place on Saturday, April 21, beginning at 1 p.m. for VIPs and 2 p.m. for general admission. The event occurs during Harrisburg Beer Week, a nine-day series spotlighting breweries, restaurants and pubs throughout the greater Harrisburg area.
Brews will be served from more than 40 Pennsylvania breweries, and VIP ticket holders will have the option to taste specialty pours such as Moo-Duck Brewery’s Mistopheles Imperial Stout with blueberry and Yards Brewing Company’s Parallel Brewniverse IPA. In addition to beers, you’ll also find distilled spirits and ciders available for sampling. As an added bonus this year, the VIP hour with passed hors d’oeuvres will also feature a mixology bar sponsored by The Traveling Tap.
Perhaps the most unique aspect of PA Flavor is the delicious food from local restaurants. Local restaurants such as Tattered Flag Brew Pub, The Millworks and Tröegs Independent Brewing Company — plus some go-to chain restaurants — will be serving up grub for attendees. A trip through PA Flavor’s Facebook page teases with tasty images of everything from pulled pork and beer-braised steak dip to sushi. You’ll have to attend to learn what’s on this year’s menu!
Between the beer and food options available at PA Flavor, it’s no surprise that this festival is still going strong after seven years. Make sure to grab your tickets now to kick off beer festival season in style with the best Pennsylvania has to offer. This event is 21+, and designated driver tickets, which include access to food samplings, soft drinks and nitro cold brew coffee, are available.
The Brewers of Pennsylvania is a nonprofit trade association that brings together leaders of Pennsylvania-based breweries in order to promote and protect the brewing industry in the state.
