HARRISBURG, PA — The Brewers of Pennsylvania (BOP), the state’s official brewers guild, is proud to announce the appointment of Hannah Ison, Director of Brewing Operations at Zeroday Brewing Company in Harrisburg, as its new Executive Director following an extensive nationwide search.
Ison brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the role, both from her operational background at Zeroday Brewing Company and her longstanding involvement with the BOP. She has previously served on the Board of Directors and the Legislative Committee of the organization, where she has been a powerful advocate for the state’s craft brewing industry. Additionally, she contributes to the national brewing conversation having been a committee member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee for the Master Brewers Association of the Americas.
“We are thrilled to welcome Hannah as our new Executive Director,” said Fred Maier, President of the Board of Directors for the Brewers of Pennsylvania and co-owner of Susquehanna Brewing Company. “Her deep understanding of the brewing landscape, her proven leadership, and her passion for inclusion and advocacy make her the ideal person to guide the BOP into its next chapter. The Board is confident she will elevate our efforts to support and grow Pennsylvania’s vibrant brewing community.”
A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Ison holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Her background in both policy and operations uniquely positions her to strengthen the BOP’s mission of protecting and promoting the interests of Pennsylvania’s breweries.
“I’m honored to step into this role, shake things up, and build on the incredible work the Brewers of Pennsylvania has accomplished for our industry,” said Ison. “As a brewer and advocate, I look forward to advancing our policy initiatives, supporting our members, and expanding our reach as one of the country’s most dynamic brewing states.”
